“Pride in Asylum” Campaign: Supporting LGBTQ+ Immigrants During Pride and Immigrant Heritage Month

Every year during June, we celebrate both Pride Month and Immigrant Heritage Month–honoring the stories, identities, and resilience of LGBTQ+ immigrants.

At the intersection of these two identities, amid a political climate that seeks to silence already disenfranchised communities, our clients are doubly marginalized.

Asylum is a human right

Yet, unfortunately, expanded ICE presence and escalating reports of deportations and detentions (including widespread violations of due process) are eroding the right to asylum and endangering queer and trans immigrants. These policies are not only morally unjust, they are life-threatening.

Through our Pride in Asylum Campaign, we are fighting back. Our team is committed to providing vital services for our clients while advocating for policies to defend and uplift LGBTQ+ immigrant rights.

We cannot do this alone, and invite you to join our Pride in Asylum Campaign

A month ago, we were told by a long-time partner that they were no longer funding “racial equity” and “social advocacy.”

In a year when DEI is being de-prioritized by major funders, we’re turning to the people who’ve always been there: our community.

Grassroots giving acknowledges all individual donation levels, building collective power to decrease our reliance on institutions. Help us build a collective future where LGBTQ+ immigrants are celebrated and free by donating an amount that feels meaningful to you.

Even if you can’t donate yourself, consider sharing our campaign using this toolkit.
