Latidos: A Bay Area Conference for Spanish-Speaking Providers of HIV Prevention and Care

In 2026, for the second year in a row, our team participated in LATIDOS, a summit for medical and social-service providers serving people with HIV.

LATIDOS, which stands for Latine Americanos Trabajando por la Inclusión, Diversidad, Organización y Salud, is a Spanish-first regional space for Latine leadership and health equity, bringing together frontline HIV service providers, public-health advocates, and community organizers across the San Francisco Bay Area. 

Last year, Oasis’ Social Services Director was a featured speaker, giving a presentation on immigration that equipped attendees with practical guidance on the current state of asylum law, medical documentation, ICE interactions, and “Know Your Rights” education to give them tools to support immigrant rights within their roles as health workers. This year, our team tabled during the conference, and connected with a wide range of people from organizations who serve the LGBTQ+ immigrant community, talking about our immigration services and how we can collaborate to support our clients. Some attendees already knew and loved Oasis, including a client working in public health, while others had the opportunity to learn about us for the first time. Overall, 210 people attended the event and our staff connected with over 40 people directly, including legal professionals, social-service professionals, and medical professionals. 

The conference theme was “Voces del Corazón” (Voices of the Heart) inviting attendees to explore the many ways families and diversity shape our communities.

In a time when culturally responsive care is especially important, we are happy to participate in a conference like LATIDOS that intentionally creates a strong sense of community, hope, and empowerment. And we are already looking forward to next year’s conference!
